Olswang has advised telecoms giant Belgacom on the sale of the business and assets of its subsidiary Telindus UK to technology services company Telent. The newly acquired business will be re-named Telent with immediate effect and contribute an annual turnover of over £45 million. The sale follows on from the disposal of Telindus France earlier this year.
Telindus UK delivers ICT solutions including network infrastructure, data centre and security solutions, plus professional and managed services. Its extensive IP network capability and multi-vendor support capabilities complements Telent's existing business and boosts its IP and IT networking capabilities. Telindus UK's key customers include Virgin Media, British Aerospace and LINX.
Corporate Partner Nick Crosbie, who led the Olswang team, said: "This was an exciting transaction with a range of practices and expertise involved. It was great to advise long-standing Olswang client Belgacom on a UK-based transaction. This transaction adds to the series of high-profile telecoms and technology M&A transactions Olswang has been acting on in recent months."
Nick was supported by Corporate Associates Charles Turnham and Tom Jameson, Head of Telecoms Purvi Parekh, Commercial Associate Helen Andrews, Real Estate Senior Associate Stephen Baker and Employment Associate Gina Young.
