Orrick advised San Mateo, California-based fintech startup Alpaca on a $1.75 million venture round. Round participants included D4V, Monex Ventures, MUCAP of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and Eric Di Benedetto, a leading artificial intelligence (AI) and Fintech angel investor, in addition to existing and angel investors.

Founded in February 2015, Alpaca is a fintech AI startup building AI and database technology in financial trading. The funds from the venture round will be used to accelerate the development of AlpacaScan, a platform that helps casual traders discover trade ideas.

The Orrick team advising Alpaca included partners Edward “Ted” Johnson and Joseph Perkins and associate Ben Spitz.
