Osborne Clarke advises FWU on acqusition of Skandia Austria from Heidelberger Leben

Osborne Clarke advised financial services provider FWU AG on the acquisition of Skandia Austria, with its insurance portfolio of 82,000 contracts and assets under management of EUR 1.4 billion, from the Heidelberger Life Group. The transaction requires the approval of the relevant authorities.

FWU AG is a global financial services provider with life insurance investments in Europe as well as in the Middle East and East Asia. The company is predominantly family-owned, however Swiss Re also holds a stake in the company. FWU focuses on unit-linked life insurance products with innovative investment solutions. The acquisition will enable it to revitalize the business at Skandia Austria.
