Osborne Clarke has advised Media Investment GmbH on its investment in the start-up company Familonet GmbH. Media Investment is an investment company with its seat in Cologne. The company acquires and administrates shares of corporate entities and other investments and offers telecommunication services.

Media Investment is co-investor beside several Venture Capital funds, media enterprises and Innovationsstarterfonds in Hamburg.

It was only at the end of 2013 when several regional newspaper publishers joined by means of the investment company Media + More Venture. The investment will enable Familonet to further accelerate its expansion into foreign markets, which started in December with its entry into the Brazilian and Turkish markets. Next on its agenda are the markets in Russia, China and Mexico.

The Osborne Clarke’s team that advised on the investment was led by Partner Nicolas Gabrysch who was assisted by Till-Manuel Saur and Konstantin Ewald. The team advised Media Investment comprehensively on its investment.
