PARTNER MOVES - Addleshaw Goddard has hired Paul Ferguson as a partner in its international commercial disputes team. He joins from Ontier.

22 Sep 2022

Paul's practice is centred around claims involving digital assets, cryptocurrencies, online trading platforms and the recovery of assets from related cyber-crime.  Paul has advised clients in substantial multijurisdictional commercial litigation and arbitration matters originating in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America as well as cross border disputes arising from the British Virgin Islands and the Caymen Islands.  While at AG, Paul will drive the firm's efforts to become the leading advisor to companies involved in disputes around cryptocurrency, technology, digital assets and cyber-crime.

Paul's appointment continues the disputes team's steep international growth trajectory over the past 12 months, with the arrival of partners Markus Perkams, Jörg Bielefeld, Alexander Schmid and of counsel Timo Handel in Germany, Georges-Louis Harang in Paris, partners Paul Chaplin and Stuart Wardlaw in the UK, partner Shane Jury in Dubai, and the arrival of the litigation team in Dublin led by Maura Connolly.

Mark Molyneux, Head of Disputes at Addleshaw Goddard, said:

Cryptocurrency, cybercrime and claims involving digital assets are becoming increasingly complex yet more common place, requiring specialist legal and industry knowledge.  Paul's arrival brings additional focus and a wealth of experience to our teams who already support clients on these issues.  Added to this, his deep international experience in commercial disputes overall supports our strategy of securing additional mandates involving cross practice, multi-jurisdictional teams.
