Akin is pleased to announce that real estate partner Avi Feinberg has joined the firm’s New York office. Feinberg adds significant real estate experience to the firm’s global platform of asset manager clients, including credit, private equity, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and other institutional investors.
Feinberg represents debt and equity investors in real estate financings, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, preferred equity investments, ground leases and restructurings. His clients include leading private equity, credit and other asset managers, as well as real estate sponsors and developers and REITs.
“Avi brings a diverse mix of sophisticated real estate transactions experience involving the purchase, sale, financing and refinancing of marquis properties. His practice has clear synergies with our corporate, special situations and private credit, restructuring, private equity, litigation and funds practices,” said Akin chairperson Kim Koopersmith. “I’m delighted to welcome Avi to the firm.”
Corporate practice co-head Zachary Wittenberg added, “Avi operates at the high end of the real estate space and has a long track record of structuring creative solutions for complex real estate financings and other transactions. Many of our asset manager clients will benefit from Avi’s counsel in an environment where commercial real estate debt is set to mature and will need to be refinanced at higher interest rates.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining Akin, which offers a global platform built for investors and focused on structuring bespoke transactions. The firm’s focus on creative capital solutions makes Akin the ideal setting for my real estate practice,” said Feinberg on his move.
Feinberg was previously a partner at Fried Frank.
