PARTNER MOVES - Allison Miller, experienced professional liability trial lawyer, joins Steptoe's Houston office

16 Apr 2025

Steptoe LLP has announced the continued growth of its Professional Liability and Trial practices with the addition of partner Allison Miller in the firm's Houston, TX office.

Allison is an experienced trial and appellate litigator whose practice encompasses legal and professional malpractice defense and commercial litigation. She also counsels law firms and lawyers on professional responsibility, state bar proceedings, firm policy, operations, and risk management.

We are thrilled to welcome Allison to Steptoe as a partner in our Houston office. Her extensive experience in litigating claims and her proactive approach to professional responsibility and liability will be invaluable to our Professional Liability and Trial teams. We have turned to her to be the firm's outside counsel in the past and are thrilled to be able to call her our partner now, said firm chair Gwen Renigar.

Allison joins Steptoe's 51-person Houston office from Beck Redden. Her arrival adds to the Houston team’s broad trial experience, joining recent lateral additions including Claudia Frost and Karl Hopkins. She is a member of the Association of Women Attorneys, where she serves on the Judicial Endorsement Committee; a Mentor in the HBA Mentor Program; and a Fellow of both the Texas Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Foundation.

Allison added: Steptoe has a strong litigation brand nationally. Its firm leaders and Houston litigators are lawyers I have admired and called friends for years. I look forward to bringing the breadth and depth of Steptoe's offerings to my existing and prospective clients and working closely with Steptoe's talented group of professional liability and trial attorneys.

Allison earned her JD from The University of Texas School of Law and her BA from The University of Texas at Austin, with honors.
