Mr. Davies resumes his role as Litigation Partner after serving as Assistant Solicitor General for the New York Attorney General’s Office
Andrew Rhys Davies, a former partner in Allen & Overy’s litigation practice, has returned to the firm following two years of public service. Mr. Davies left Allen & Overy in 2016 to serve as Assistant Solicitor General for the Office of the New York Attorney General, representing the State of New York and its agencies in appellate litigation.
Mr. Davies rejoins Allen & Overy’s New York office as a partner in the litigation practice. On his return, Mr. Davies will focus on representing clients in trial and appellate litigation and regulatory investigations, with an emphasis on securities and financial services.
Andrew’s exemplary work as Assistant Solicitor General illustrates Allen & Overy’s ongoing commitment to public service, said Tim House, U.S. Senior Partner and Global Head of Litigation. We welcome Andrew back at a time of innovation and growth for the firm, and I know he will serve as an invaluable partner in our New York litigation practice as we continue to expand our footprint in the U.S.
Mr. Davies has spent over 17 years at Allen & Overy and was named partner in 2007. In addition to his focus on trial and appellate litigation, Mr. Davies has represented corporate and individual clients in state and federal regulatory investigations. During his time in public service, Mr. Davies handled dozens of appeals, arguing more than twenty cases in federal and state courts.
Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside truly talented and exceptional professionals at the New York Attorney General’s Office, said Andrew. I’m now honored to once again have the opportunity to rejoin my former colleagues at Allen & Overy and contribute to the firm’s growing presence in the U.S.
