PARTNER MOVES - Ashurst grows US projects offering with partner hire

05 May 2025

Global law firm Ashurst has appointed Rhodri Evans as a partner in its global Projects & Energy Transition practice as the firm continues to expand its US Projects offering.

Rhodri has extensive experience advising on major US infrastructure projects for clients in both the public and private sector. He also works closely with renewable energy project development companies and has experience of working both in-house at a leading international infrastructure contractor, and in private practice.

Lee McDonald, global head of Projects, Energy & Transition, said: “Our global projects & energy transition team continues to experience real growth and we’re delighted to add Rhodri Evans to our global bench. With our US projects team operating at the forefront of the US market, Rhodri’s experience provides a well-timed boost to our ongoing market-defining offering.”

“Rhodri is an excellent addition to our US Projects practice. His impressive track record of delivering solid client outcomes for the most complex of mandates and his blend of in-house and private practice experience will no doubt serve us and our clients well,” commented Anna Hermelin, Co-Head of Ashurst's Projects, Americas practice and Los Angeles managing partner. “Rhodri’s broad experience will enable us to further capitalise on both private and public sector work in the US, supporting us to further advise clients in what is an ever-evolving sector.”

Rhodri added: “I’m excited to be joining Ashurst to further build on the growth of the US Projects practice, which I have long admired and whose market profile has gone from strength-to-strength in recent years. I am particularly looking forward to bringing the broad perspective that I have gained from my blend of in-house, private and public sector work to serve our clients' interests.”

Ashurst’s US offering continues to expand, with Rhodri’s arrival following the promotion of projects partner Tristan Robinson and the hire of digital infrastructure counsel Paul Dawson in LA in 2024, as well as the more recent additions of associates Russ Neldam (LA), Judy Hong (LA), and Devon Wilson (New York).
