PARTNER MOVES - Baker McKenzie expands corporate practice in Frankfurt

22 Sep 2022

Baker McKenzie is expanding its corporate practice with the appointment of Dr. Katharina Stüber as a partner in March 2022. She joins Baker McKenzie's Frankfurt office from Allen & Overy. With her, an associate becomes part of the Baker McKenzie team.

We warmly welcome Katharina Stüber and are very much looking forward to working with her. With her extensive experience in stock corporation and capital markets law, she is an excellent fit for our team and will complement our corporate practice group ideally, says Dr. Christian Vocke, Corporate Partner in Baker McKenzie's Frankfurt office and member of the Management Committee.

Dr. Katharina Stüber is an attorney and also holds a degree in business administration. She primarily advises listed companies. The focus of her work is on advising on issues of stock corporation and group law, including corporate governance and compliance issues. She has proven expertise in capital markets law, i.e. market abuse and transparency law under German and European law, in particular with regard to disclosure obligations in connection with stock exchange listings. Furthermore, she regularly attends to critical general meetings of listed companies and advises on takeover law.

I am very much looking forward to working with my new colleagues in the Baker McKenzie team. As a new partner in the Corporate practice, I would like to further advance the corporate law advice and AGM support of the Corporate practice group in Frankfurt, comments Katharina Stüber on her move.

Baker McKenzie last expanded its corporate/M&A practice in October 2021 with Dr. Jakub Lorys as partner. Prior to that, the firm strengthened its restructuring and insolvency practice in December 2020 with Joachim Ponseck as Partner and Prof. Dr. Artur Swierczok as Counsel. In May 2020, Baker McKenzie expanded its Corporate/M&A practice with Manuel Metzner as Counsel in the Corporate and Financial Regulatory area. With Dr. Silke Gantzckow, an additional notary and corporate partner joined Baker McKenzie in May 2019. Prior to that, Ulrich Weidemann had already joined the firm as Counsel in January 2019. In October 2018, Baker McKenzie gained a team led by Berthold Hummel to expand its Munich office.

In London, the Baker McKenzie corporate team brought in Ash Tiwari from Allen & Overy in January 2022, followed by Rakesh Rathod, who starts in May. Both join as partners.
