Following new joiners Berthold Hummel and Katja Heuterkes in fall 2017 Baker McKenzie is further expanding it's Corporate and Private Equity Team in Munich with Julia Braun. Julia Braun joined the team of Baker McKenzie as Counsel at the beginning of January 2018.

Julia Braun, LL.M. focuses her practice on cross-border and national corporate M&A, capital markets, private equity, growth capital and venture capital transactions - in particular in the Life Sciences field. She advises national and international financial investors, private equity companies, strategic investors and family offices in a broad range of corporate law issues, including private equity and venture capital investments, management buy-outs, management participations, seed financing rounds, and bridge financings.

Together with Berthold Hummel, she advised the sellers on all legal and tax aspects in a cross-border acquisition of Rigontec, a leader in RIG-I targeting RNA therapeutics, by Merck as well as the investor syndicate consisting of LSP Life Sciences Partners (Lead), Bristol-Myers Squibb, BioMedPartners, Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund and High-Tech Gründerfonds on as A series financing of Cardior Pharmaceuticals GmbH, a carve-out from Medizinische Hochschule Hannover (MHH) and Max Planck Gesellschaft (MPG).
