Brown Rudnick announced that veteran trial lawyer Adam Schiffer has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation and Arbitration Practice Group. Schiffer will be based in Houston, Texas, where the firm will also be opening an office, its first in the region.
Schiffer has tried over 50 cases to juries and arbitrated over 45 cases through final hearing, representing both plaintiffs and defendants across a wide array of industries. He has arbitrated matters before virtually all of the leading arbitral tribunals, handling disputes arising in Argentina, China, the former Soviet Union, India, Mexico, Norway, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, and Turkey, among other jurisdictions. He is ranked as a leading litigator by Chambers USA and Benchmark Litigation.
Schiffer was a founding partner of Houston litigation boutique Schiffer Hicks Johnson, where he spent the last 17 years.
“Adam is a terrific strategic addition to our top-flight team of litigators and brings with him a strong roster of clients and ongoing litigations. We have been increasingly litigating in Texas, and Adam’s success as a first-chair trial lawyer will be a superb resource for our clients,” said Steven F. Wasserman, managing director of Brown Rudnick’s Dispute Resolution and Restructuring Department.
“I am thrilled to be joining Brown Rudnick’s talented group of trial lawyers,” Schiffer said. “The firm’s litigation practice has been growing tremendously, and has a great track record of success. It’s a natural fit for my clients.”
Schiffer received his J.D. from University of Houston School of Law, and B.A. from Dickinson College.
