PARTNER MOVES - Brown Rudnick expands London European hub with addition of Paul Feldberg as head of UK white collar

24 Jan 2024

International law firm Brown Rudnick announced the appointment of Paul Feldberg as a partner and head of the U.K. White Collar Defense, Investigations and Compliance practice in London. Feldberg’s appointment marks the continued expansion of the Firm’s presence in London, which has included the arrival of several new partners in recent months.

Feldberg brings a wealth of experience, advising corporates on multijurisdictional compliance issues relating to money laundering, sanctions, bribery and fraud. He joins from Jenner & Block, where he was a partner in the Investigations, Compliance and Defense practice and co-chair of the National Security Sanctions and Export Control group and the Bribery/FCPA group. Feldberg began his career as a barrister, defending and prosecuting economic crime in court. He then served as a prosecutor for Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs Office and was a senior prosecutor at the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) in the U.K. He has worked on some of the most high-profile SFO cases, with significant experience as both a prosecutor and defense counsel.

Stephen Best, partner and chair of Brown Rudnick’s White Collar Defense, Investigations and Compliance practice, said: “Paul brings a wealth of experience to Brown Rudnick having worked in both the public sector and private practice. As companies ensure compliance with the far-reaching amendments to the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act introduced in the U.K., our multinational clients will benefit greatly from Paul’s extensive knowledge and experience in this area, and we are excited to welcome him to the firm.”

Paul Feldberg, head of U.K., White Collar Defense, Investigations and Compliance, said: “I am thrilled to be joining Brown Rudnick’s stellar White Collar Defense, Investigations and Compliance practice, which is made up of some of the most well regarded lawyers in this area of law. My clients are predominantly large multinational corporations, so I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across practices on both sides of the Atlantic and leveraging Brown Rudnick’s strengths from M&A to brand and reputation management, to deliver results for clients and continue to grow my practice.”

Feldberg is ranked by Chambers in its Corporate Financial Crime guide, recommended by Who’s Who Legal for Trade and Customs – International Sanctions, Corporate Business Crime Defense and Investigations and included in the Legal 500 rankings for White-Collar Crime Advice to Individuals in the Fraud category and Advice to Corporates in Regulatory Investigations and Corporate Crime. He is also the editor and creator of the Global Investigations Review Sanctions Guide.

Feldberg joins a number of key strategic hires made by Brown Rudnick in the past year, as the Firm continues to grow its presence in London, focusing on strategic areas where it is a market leader. In addition to crisis management, which includes white collar, restructuring, investigations and special situations, the Firm also excels in global litigation, technology, life sciences and brand and reputation management.

Recent hires in Brown Rudnick’s London office include Derval Walsh and Robin Pickworth as partners in the Litigation and Arbitration practice in October 2023, and Charlotte Harris as lead European partner in the Brand and Reputation Management practice in June 2023. Earlier this month, Brown Rudnick announced that prominent White Collar and Investigations partner Steven Tyrrell joined its Washington, D.C., office.
