Global law firm Clifford Chance has appointed Aimee Sharman and Matt Lilley as partners, based in London, within its Global Financial Markets practice. Their addition significantly enhances the firm's global Private Credit team, with both bringing robust expertise and strong track records in fund finance and lending advice. The pair join from Mayer Brown.
Aimee has extensive experience acting for sponsors, borrowers, and lenders on a wide range of fund financing products including bridge financing, GP support or co-investment facilities, fund of funds financing, NAV financing, asset backed and hybrid facilities, as well as preferred equity solutions. Her client base spans multiple fund and asset classes including private equity, credit, infrastructure, real estate, emerging markets, secondaries and hedge funds.
Matt acts on lending transactions in the fund financing arena, with wide experience covering a range of asset classes and fund structures. He has advised on structures including subscription, NAV and asset backed financings, as well as hybrid and co-investment facilities, partner loan programmes and preferred equity structures.
These appointments are the latest in a series of recent, global lateral hires at Clifford Chance within the private credit space. Notable additions include Arnaud Fromion and Frédéric Guilloux in Paris, Matthew Hinker in New York, and Blake Jones in London, who all joined from US firms.
