PARTNER MOVES - CMS continues the expansion of its Hong Kong funds practice with partner appointment

27 Nov 2024

CMS is pleased to announce that Helen Wang is joining its Funds practice in Hong Kong as a partner from Mayer Brown. Helen’s appointment follows the recent additions of Paul Moloney and Gigi Ma, also from Mayer Brown, who joined the firm in July.

Helen’s practice focuses on all aspects of the formation, maintenance and restructuring of investment funds, including private equity funds, hedge funds and hybrid funds. Helen advises asset managers, banks, state owned enterprises, professional trustees and fund administrators, as well as family offices and start-ups, across the Asia Pacific region in Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Japan and Australia.

Helen is a member of the education committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) and the technical committee of the Hong Kong Venture Capital Association (HKVCA).

Caryn Miller, CMS partner and Joint Managing Director for Asia and the Middle East comments: “I am delighted to welcome Helen to the firm. Helen is a highly respected lawyer in the funds space, and her appointment, alongside the recent addition of Paul and Gigi, sends a strong message of the firm’s commitment to Hong Kong and our ambitious growth plans in the funds market. Helen’s expertise will greatly enhance the capabilities of the CMS Funds practice and further strengthen our ability to serve clients in this rapidly evolving area.”

Helen Wang adds: “I am thrilled to join the CMS Funds practice and contribute to its growth in Hong Kong and Asia by making the most of the exciting opportunities the market presents. CMS's global reach and strong commitment to innovation resonate deeply with my philosophy towards client service. I look forward to working with Paul and the team to deliver a comprehensive global service to our clients.
