PARTNER MOVES - Corporate partner joins Simmons & Simmons in Frankfurt

22 Sep 2022

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has announced the hire of Klaus Banke to the firm’s corporate M&A group in Frankfurt. Klaus will join the firm as a partner on 1 February.

Klaus is a corporate M&A lawyer with many years of experience specializing on cross-border transactions, especially in a French-German context. More broadly, Klaus offers clients expertise across corporate restructuring, joint ventures and the full spectrum of corporate law. He has developed a practice focusing on the energy, pharma and technology space. Klaus has spent the last years as a partner with K&L Gates.

Beyond building his M&A practice, Klaus is committed to supporting the growth of the Simmons’ M&A practice in Germany and Frankfurt.

On welcoming Klaus to the firm, head of corporate M&A in Germany, Stephan Ulrich said: “Klaus’ arrival at the firm is a clear signal of Simmons’ intent to further grow its Frankfurt M&A practice with a focus on cross border transactions. With his strong network of clients across the energy, life sciences and technology fields, Klaus is already aligned to Simmons’ sector focus and will be core to our further growth in Frankfurt”.

On joining Simmons, Klaus commented: “Given my experience in working with international teams on cross border mandates, I fell very well placed to continue building my network with the Simmons corporate team, and expanding the firm’s remit in Germany and across Europe”.

Klaus’ arrival follows the significant hire of a team of patent partners and attorneys from Isenbruck Bösl Hörschler, led by Stephanie Nottrott and Fritz Lahrtz to Simmons’ Munich office, significantly bolstering the firm’s IP offering out of Europe.
