PARTNER MOVES - Dentons adds seasoned state and local tax (SALT) lawyer Matthew A. Mantle to Birmingham office

Dentons, the world's largest global law firm, announces that Matthew A. Mantle has joined the Firm's Tax practice as a shareholder in the Birmingham, Alabama, office.

Mantle is a nationally-known State and Local Tax (SALT) lawyer with more than a decade and a half of experience helping taxpayer clients with state and local tax planning, legislative and audit/litigation matters in Alabama, Louisiana and on a multistate basis. He has represented clients nationwide, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely held family businesses, in all areas of state and local tax throughout the Gulf South. He advises on state and local tax matters related to tax and business planning, audits, administrative appeals, judicial appeals, identification and utilization of tax incentives, governmental relations, tax legislation and unclaimed property matters.

Mantle holds an LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center and is admitted to practice in Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana. In addition, he is a former Graduate Fellow in State and Local Taxation for the Council on State Taxation (COST), where he handled state and local tax litigation issues at the US Supreme Court, state supreme court and state appellate court levels.
