23 May 2024

Dentons, Canada’s Global Law Firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Matthew Epp as a partner in the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Calgary. Matthew is a highly skilled litigator with more than 25 years of experience with complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, class actions and white-collar crime matters.

“I am very pleased to return to the Firm after more than 20 years (then Fraser Milner Casgrain),” said Matthew Epp. “I am eager to explore the opportunities this next phase of my career offers, especially as I start collaborating with national and global colleagues to creatively address the complex challenges our clients face.”

“We are delighted to welcome Matthew to Dentons,” said George Tai, Managing Partner of the Calgary office. “His impressive industry reputation and extensive national practice add a new dimension to the Firm’s existing capabilities in Alberta and beyond, reinforcing our steadfast commitment to delivering top-tier support to our clients, and positioning us for continued success.

Matthew's legal experience involves significant arbitral proceedings, including those in the electricity and real estate development industries, as well as general corporate and commercial matters ranging from employment matters, contractual disputes to litigation involving shareholders’ rights. He acts as lead counsel for large corporations at all levels of court and in front of industry tribunals, including the Law Society of Alberta, the Mutual Fund Dealers Association, Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), the Alberta Securities Commission, and the Real Estate Council of Alberta.

Mark Evans, National Leader of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, noted: Matthew is a recognized leader in the litigation space, and his decades of experience, particularly on white-collar crime matters, will be an excellent complement to our team and our client service offering.”
