Hayes brings extensive experience in acquisition finance, fund finance, asset-based lending and general corporate finance, further strengthening Dentons' capabilities to service clients in these areas.
With more than 25 years of legal experience, Hayes is an internationally renowned finance lawyer known for his proficiency in handling a wide range of transactions including acquisitions, refinancings, restructurings, recapitalizations and work-outs. He has held prominent roles in leading law firms in London, New York and Sydney.
Hayes has built a stellar reputation representing a diverse range of cross-border clients, including global investment banks, commercial banks, private debt funds and other lenders, venture capital and private equity firms, other investment firms and corporations. He has worked on numerous high-profile transactions, including advising Blackstone on the debt financing of its US$26 billion acquisition of Hilton Hotels. Additionally, Hayes played a key role in advising an international consortium including TPG and Macquarie on the debt financing of its AU$11 billion takeover bid for Qantas Airways.
