PARTNER MOVES - Dentons hires Mark O'Shaughnessy as litigation partner in Dublin

02 May 2025

Dentons is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark O'Shaughnessy as a partner into its Litigation and Dispute Resolution team in Dublin.

Mark joins Dentons from Byrne Wallace Shields LLP, where he was a partner in the litigation and investigations practice.

Paul Jarvis, CEO of Dentons UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME), said: Dublin is a key growth area for our firm and I am pleased that we consistently attract the highest calibre talent to this office to help us realise our ambitions. Mark's appointment will help us capture new areas of dispute resolution work as we continue to expand in Ireland.

Mark advises domestic and international organisations on complex litigation with a particular focus on intellectual property, technology, data and corporate disputes.

His clients are from a range of sectors including financial services, education, health, life science and technology, media and telecommunications (TMT).

Mark also has extensive experience of providing business leaders with regulatory and crisis management advice during data breaches, cyber attacks, financial misappropriation and corporate governance incidents.

Eavan Saunders, Managing Partner for Dentons Ireland, said: Mark's hire will support our recent success and strategic growth plans as we continue to build a premium disputes practice in Dublin. His outstanding reputation in the Irish disputes market, coupled with the skills he brings to our firm, will further enhance what is already a leading Irish litigation team at Dentons.

Karyn Harty, Global Co-Chair of Disputes and Head of the Litigation practice group in Dentons' Dublin office, said: Mark's client and sector knowledge is an ideal fit for our existing client base and sector focus. He will also increase our capacity to collaborate with other Dentons offices on global mandates as our Dublin litigation practice becomes increasingly international.
