Leading global law firm Dentons has welcomed senior pensions partner Carolyn Saunders to its People, Reward and Mobility team. She joins the firm's London office.
Previously a partner at Pinsent Masons, where she led the national pensions team and was also head of the London office, Carolyn brings over 30 years of experience in pensions law, advising on employers, and trustees and providers on the full range of pensions issues, including complex transactions and governance issues through to contentious matters such as Pensions Ombudsman claims and High Court litigation.
Recognised by the major legal directories as “an all-round brilliant lawyer to deal with” (Chambers & Partners) and a “first rate choice on complex matters where clarity is essential” (Legal 500), Carolyn is a frequent conference speaker and media commentator on pensions issues. She is also an experienced trainer who lectures regularly on trustee training courses for the pensions industry and leads campaigns around diversity and inclusion in the financial services sector and trustee responsibilities in relation to climate change and biodiversity.
Speaking after the announcement, partner Eleanor Hart, who leads the UK Pensions team at Dentons said, I am very pleased to welcome Carolyn to our team. A recognised expert in the pensions field, I look forward to working with Carolyn to further build and develop our pensions practice in the UK and the wider region.
On joining the firm, Carolyn said, I am thrilled to be joining Eleanor and this dynamic team at a time of great change and opportunity in the pensions market. Like Eleanor, I am very much looking forward to us working together to further develop the practice.
Paul Jarvis, Chief Executive of Dentons' UK, Ireland and Middle East region added, Carolyn is an excellent addition to our People, Rewards and Mobility team. Her extensive profile within the industry will bring new opportunities to grow our pensions team and strengthen our position in the market.
