PARTNER MOVES - Dentons welcomes Raphael Tachie as a partner in the trusts, estates and wealth preservation group

02 May 2024

Dentons, Canada’s Global Law Firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Raphael Tachie, a seasoned professional called to the bar in both British Columbia and Ontario, as a partner in the national Tax group. With over 12 years of experience as a trusts and estates lawyer, Raphael has a deep understanding of client needs and the importance of providing integrated advice in relation to wealth management.

“I am truly excited to embark on this new chapter with Dentons,” said Raphael Tachie. “I look forward to leveraging the Firm’s robust national and global presence to not only enhance my service to clients in Vancouver and Toronto, but to also contribute to the Firm's growth across these dynamic markets.”

Raphael has extensive experience supporting high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs and business owners with estate and trust planning, business succession planning, incapacity matters and planned charitable giving, in a manner that is tax efficient and aligns with their personal values and objectives. In addition, he advises executors, trustees and other fiduciaries in all aspects of estate and trust administration, including probate, fiduciary duties, obligations and liability issues, and post-mortem planning.

Raphael also provides counsel to insurance, investments and trust companies with regard to the impact of the laws and regulations relating to older and vulnerable customers, incapacity, estates, trusts and beneficiary designations on their products, services and market conduct.

We are delighted to welcome Raphael to our team,” said Mark Jadd, National Practice Group Leader, Tax. “His experience, both in-house and in private practice, will enhance our ability to serve clients in BC, Ontario and across the country with unparalleled legal, estates and trust planning services.”

Beyond his practice, Raphael is the immediate past president and a current board member of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers. He continues to actively engage in advocating for Black inclusion in the legal profession and in the broader Black community.
