Dentons continues to grow its expanding Tax practice with the appointment of Partner Damien Bourke, as well as Senior Associate Paul Thompson and Solicitor Ryan Steele, to its Brisbane office.
Damien has over 25 years of dealing with complex commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution strategies. He specialises in tax litigation, tax controversy (including Australian Tax Office reviews and audits), mediation, settlement of disputes and estate planning.
Damien has extensive experience managing the relationship between clients and the ATO.
Dentons Australia Chair and Australasia Region CEO, Doug Stipanicev said Damien’s appointment builds on the strategic importance Dentons has placed on building its tax disputes practice in Australia, following the appointment of Sue Williamson and her team in Melbourne in 2023.
“Tax disputes continues to be an area of significant growth. Damien is highly regarded in his field, and his appointment expands the offering we are able to provide clients. I’m delighted to welcome Damien and his team to Dentons.”
Commenting on his appointment, Damien said, “The tax landscape in Australia is extremely complex. I’m excited to be joining Dentons in Brisbane and to work with the fantastic tax team in Melbourne.”
