PARTNER MOVES - Elise Dufour joins Stephenson Harwood as partner

03 Dec 2024

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its technology capabilities with the addition of Elise Dufour as a partner in its Paris office.

Elise has more than 20 years' experience in data protection, e-commerce and IT law. She advises clients on a range of technology-related matters, including GDPR compliance, cybersecurity, and digital transformation projects and her expertise extends to both contentious and non-contentious matters. She has marked expertise in life sciences, retail and hospitality, advising major clients on a range of technology-related legal matters – including artificial intelligence.

Having a strong presence across continental Europe is an important priority for the firm, said Nicolas Demigneux, Paris office managing partner. Elise is the fourth partner hire we've made in Paris just this year, which demonstrates our ongoing commitment to both the French and wider European markets. We're developing our full-service offering, whereby our clients can come to us for the full life-cycle of their business needs, across a range of specialisms which align with the strategic priorities of the wider firm.

Technology is one of our areas of key strategic focus, said Simon Bollans, head of technology, Stephenson Harwood. It's a fast-evolving space, and one which requires dedicated experts to support clients as they navigate the unfolding opportunities and challenges it presents. Elise's appointment, with her specialist data protection, cybersecurity and IT expertise, builds out the technology offering within the team in Paris, and further enhances our international technology practice.

Stephenson Harwood's technology team provides a full range of legal services to businesses involved in the sector. The firm acts for clients ranging from start-ups to established technology companies, and businesses undergoing digital transformation of their business operations. The firm's lawyers provide support across the whole product and business lifecycle – whether in relation to technology focused development, deployment, regulation or disputes.
