PARTNER MOVES - Eversheds Sutherland boosts its energy offering with new partner appointment

Marc, who joins from Houthoff, brings a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge in energy and industrial projects.

Prior to Houthoff, Marc spent 13 years at law firm Simmons & Simmons having also previously served as in-house counsel at DSM and Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN).

Marc’s main focus is on energy and industry related projects, commercial contracting and regulatory advice. He has extensive experience in the energy sector, acting for national and international oil, gas, electricity, renewables and CCS companies.

Marc provides advice to clients on key areas including electricity, gas, heat, sustainable energy, energy subsidies, the energy transition, and climate change.

His involvement in energy-related legal proceedings further highlights his comprehensive understanding of the sector's complexities as well as helping to position him as a leading authority within both the energy and legal industries.

Marc is ranked as a ‘leading partner’ in the latest edition of Legal 500 and is described by the legal industry directory as “a true industry specialist and is very easy to work with” and “a disputes-focused counsel to note.”

Fellow legal industry directory, Chambers and Partners praises Marc for being “an outstanding lawyer with great eye for detail, and very strong drafting skills. In addition, Marc regularly publishes on energy law in the Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Energierecht journal. He also teaches subjects relating to energy law, including in the context of ‘Energy on Location’, a postgraduate course at the University of Groningen, Netherlands.
