An established, versatile lawyer with a strong technology focus, Barry joins Simmons after over two decades at firms BCLP and BLP.
Alongside wide real estate expertise, Barry is a leading specialist in the data centre sector - the critical infrastructure at the heart of the digital economy. A cross-practice, cross-border sector with a large real estate component, data centres have grown rapidly over the last decade, with further growth expected globally following the rise of generative AI.
With a strong track record, Barry's data centre expertise includes new developments and leasing, sales, mergers and acquisitions, and financing across multiple jurisdictions. He will jointly lead Simmons' multidisciplinary data centre team, strengthening the firm's global offering.
Barry also brings expertise in restructuring and special situations (RSS), and will support the firm's leading international practice, which provides specialist advice across all issues affecting companies in financial distress.
