International law firm Simmons & Simmons has expanded its corporate team, and its Bristol office, with the appointment of partner Jocelyn Ormond*. Jocelyn, whose practice covers a wide range of corporate/commercial matters, specialises particularly in M&A and equity fundraisings, with extensive experience of advising clients in the life sciences, healthcare and financial services sectors. He joins the firm from DAC Beachcroft, where he was a partner, after working at both Allen & Overy and Slaughter and May.

Commenting on the appointment, Simmons & Simmons’ Corporate & Commercial international practice group head, Mark Curtis said: “Jocelyn Ormond’s arrival marks a further milestone in the expansion of our Corporate practice. His extensive experience of M&A and equity fundraisings for life sciences and other healthcare companies and financial institutions and on cross border matters will be invaluable to our international practice.”

Jocelyn’s appointment follows on from 2 other recent partner appointments to Simmons & Simmons’ Bristol office, only a few weeks earlier, of Mahrie Webb who joined the firm from Burges Salmon, and Hinal Patel who joined from DLA Piper.
