PARTNER MOVES - Frazer Money joins Proskauer, boosting fund tax offering

11 Oct 2022

Proskauer, a leading international law firm, welcomed Frazer Money as a partner in its Tax Practice, further bolstering the firm’s dedicated private investment fund tax capability. He joins the London office.

“Tax issues play a vital role in the successful structuring of a fund,” said Mary Kuusisto, co-head of the London office and Tax partner in the Private Funds Group. “Frazer’s extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of tax systems will be a great complement to both our expanding tax and private funds practices, and I am looking forward to welcoming him aboard.”

Frazer has extensive experience advising businesses on a wide range of tax matters.  He has particular experience in advising asset managers on tax and structuring issues relating to their funds, management businesses, remuneration packages and investment transactions as well as GP and LP-led secondaries and GP minority transactions. He also has a wide range of experience advising on the tax aspects of complex credit transactions and cross-border restructurings.

“Our clients span a broad spectrum of industries and operate across a vast range of fund types. They require a sophisticated understanding of the evolving tax environment and how to address challenges that can arise when operating on a global basis,” said Amanda Nussbaum, chair of the Firm’s Tax Department. “Frazer will be a valuable resource for clients and greatly enhance our continued efforts to broaden the international scope of our tax offering for our funds clients.”

“Proskauer has played an integral role on many significant fund raisings and transactions, and I am excited to join such a dynamic team of lawyers,” said Frazer. “I look forward to the opportunity to join both a market-leading tax team and a pre-eminent private funds team.”

Frazer received his GDL from BPP Law School and his BSc in Computer Sciences from University of Cambridge. He joins Proskauer from Kirkland & Ellis.

Frazer is the fourth partner to join Proskauer’s global Tax Practice in the last year. Proskauer recently welcomed partners Robert Pohlus and David Teigman in New York and Robert Friedman in Los Angeles. Proskauer has also welcomed a number of partners in London of late. Adrian Cohen joined the restructuring practice, Barry Newman joined in the Finance practice,  Rebecca Villarreal joined as a partner in the M&A practice, Peter Olds joined in the Private Funds Group, and Steven Baker joined the Litigation Department.
