Freeths have recently recruited a team of four new immigration law specialists, all from Simpson Millar LLP.

Emma Brooksbank joins the Leeds office as a partner, heading up the team, whom she worked with for several years previously at Simpson Millar. Emma has over 10 years' experience, particularly in advising investor and entrepreneur clients and guiding businesses and public sector organisations through the system to achieve the recruitment of overseas staff. She was ranked in Chambers & Partners 2017 guide as 'one to watch' and was shortlisted at the Law Society Excellence Awards  in the 'Women Lawyer of the Year' category.

Joining Emma in Leeds is Ashley Stothard, an Immigration Executive and Irum Saleem as a Legal Assistant.

Ashley is a qualified paralegal and advises on all areas of immigration law, with particular expertise in securing British citizenship in complex registration and naturalisation cases.

Irum graduated with a Masters of Law and Practice in 2015 and supports the team on all immigration matters, including residence and permanent residence applications for European nationals and their family members.

The final new appointment is Arshia Hashmi as a solicitor based in Manchester. Arshia has over 7 years' experience and as a trained barrister, she can represent clients in the Upper and First Tier Tribunal. She is working to secure Higher Rights this year, which will enable her to represent clients throughout their judicial review claim.
