Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its intellectual property practice with the arrival of partner Helen Conlan, who joins the firm in London.
Helen brings more than 20 years of IP experience, with particular expertise in multi-jurisdictional patent litigation and in disputes relating to trade secrets. Helen's practice primarily focuses on the technology sector, including its intersection with the life sciences sector. She has advised clients on complex technologies ranging from mobile phone technologies to medical devices. She has represented clients at all levels of proceedings in the UK, in opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office, in arbitration and mediation.
The protection of innovation continues to be prioritised by businesses, said Alexandra Pygall, head of Stephenson Harwood's intellectual property practice. Helen is not only adept at devising patent litigation strategies for clients on a pan-European and global basis, her experience also deepens our expertise in the technology and life sciences sectors, which are key areas of focus for the firm.
Helen's flair for litigation and enthusiastic approach to technology means that she is ideally placed to play a central role in building out the patent litigation practice, said Paul Thwaite, commercial litigation practice group leader, Stephenson Harwood. Her arrival leaves the firm well-placed within the London market to compete for patent litigation mandates across the breadth of disputes which come before the UK Patents Court and for devising multi-jurisdictional patent enforcement strategies for our clients.
Stephenson Harwood's intellectual property team has considerable experience advising clients on a complete range of domestic and international IP issues. From determining the extent of intellectual property rights and exploiting their value, to protecting their integrity. The team has particular strengths in the life sciences sector and in consumer brands.
