PARTNER MOVES - Highly Regarded Competition Law Expert Martin Bechtold Joins Eversheds

Eversheds has strengthened its competition team with the appointment of Martin Bechtold who joins the Munich office on March 1st, 2016. Martin is a highly recognized expert in cartel law and has many years of experience in German and European competition law, as well as in complex cross-border proceedings. He has specialized knowledge in cartel and dominance cases, anti-trust litigation and competition counselling, advisory and compliance work. Having advised on numerous merger control cases in Germany and before the European Commission, including several high profile second phase investigations, Martin is particularly experienced in the field.

Martin Bechtold has previously been a partner at Magic Circle firms in Brussels and was most recently employed in Frankfurt am Main.

Eversheds is also developing its consulting services in competition law: Gerald Brei, also an internationally recognised lawyer joined Eversheds’ office in Zurich on February 1st. Gerald Brei, who came to Eversheds following ten years at Homberger’s competition law practice, joined Eversheds as a partner. He has many years of experience with anti-trust fine proceedings with cartel offices, the Swiss and European merger controls, as well as cross-border merger proceedings. He will continue to consult regularly in distribution and licensing competition matters, as well as competition issues.
