Holland & Knight has strengthened its Corporate, M&A and Securities Practice Group with the addition of Michael Hutchings as a partner in the Firm’s newest office in Seattle. Mr. Hutchings was previously a partner with DLA Piper, where he was one of the founders of the firm’s Seattle office.
“With more than three decades of experience, Mike has deep roots in the Seattle legal and business communities, and his addition significantly enhances our capabilities in the Pacific Northwest. His client relationships are long-standing and span a range of industries, including retail, apparel, technology, life sciences and finance,” said Scott MacCormack, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s Seattle office. “We are confident Mike will make a significant impact and help drive the continued growth of our office.”
Mr. Hutchings provides general counsel services to public and private companies and represents clients in connection with a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), public offerings, technology licensing transactions, corporate partnerships, commercial agreements and venture capital financing transactions. He also counsels companies, boards of directors and board committees on corporate governance matters and securities law compliance.

His ability to seamlessly integrate with our platform and generate business makes him a valuable addition to the Firm,” said Stephen Dietrich, practice group leader for Holland & Knight’s Corporate Central/West group.
Mr. Hutchings has held leadership roles in organizations such as the Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association and the Washington State Bar Association’s Corporate Act Revision Committee. He is a frequent speaker on topics relating to corporate finance, M&A, securities laws and corporate governance, and has been consistently ranked in the Chambers USA guide since 2012.

Mr. Hutchings earned a J.D. degree from Seattle University School of Law, an MBA degree from the University of Washington and a B.A. degree from the University of Utah.
