Dentons announces that James Newland has joined the Firm’s Litigation practice as a partner resident in its Washington, DC, office. Newland focuses his practice on domestic (US) and international disputes, particularly in navigating complex engineering, construction and development projects as well as international organization and foreign sovereign immunity matters.
Newland represents private clients, international organizations and foreign entities in complex arbitration, litigation and transactions. He is known for his experience litigating significant cases of first impression regarding the immunities of international organizations, government contracts and international arbitration of project disputes. His experience includes representation in trials, arbitrations and appellate proceedings in the DC Circuit.
