PARTNER MOVES - Julien Vandenbussche joins Stephenson Harwood as partner

22 Sep 2022

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP strengthened its investment funds capabilities with the appointment of Julien Vandenbussche as partner in its Paris office.

Vandenbussche has more than 15 years of experience advising on funds structuring, asset management regulations and asset management M&A. He advises both fund managers and fund investors on their operations relating to fund investments – including structuring, secondary transactions, investments and incentive schemes – on all asset classes and from all jurisdictions, mainly focusing on French and US funds. Vandenbussche also advises clients on dealings with the French regulator, Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF). He joins the firm from DLA Piper.

Private capital and funds is one of the key areas the firm is targeting as part of its global growth strategy, and strengthening the funds formation practice in Paris aligns with our ambitions in this area, said Nicolas Demigneux, Paris office managing partner, Stephenson Harwood. Julien is a well-known, top ranked funds formation lawyer and his arrival is an important development for the Paris team. His expertise complements our existing corporate, private equity, corporate finance and tax offerings, and enables us to seek more opportunities in the funds formation market, which continues to grow and flourish.

“Julien's arrival, which follows that of five other partners last year to the Paris office, is part of an exciting chapter for the team, as we continue to expand the office's capabilities, said Demigneux.

Stephenson Harwood’s funds group is part of the firm’s international corporate practice which acts for listed and private companies, international banks, private equity houses and management teams across a broad range of industries, including consumer, technology, life sciences and transportation. It provides funds services in Europe and Asia principally through its offices in the international financial centres of London, Paris and Hong Kong.
