International law firm Simmons & Simmons has hired construction specialist Trevor Cosgrove as a partner in its Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure (ENRI) practice.
A leading non-contentious construction lawyer, Trevor joins Simmons from the London office of a US law firm, bringing significant expertise and a strong track record, both in the UK and internationally.
Trevor specialises in advising corporate occupiers – such as banks, financial institutions, and other multinational companies – on their headquarter requirements, as well as on complex real estate and development financings. He also brings substantial expertise in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts.
A highly experienced lawyer operating in the industry for over two decades, Trevor’s practice aligns strongly with Simmons’ sector focus, representing clients across asset management and investment funds (AMIF), financial institutions (FI), health and life sciences (HLS) and technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sectors.
Working closely with partner Duncan Athol, and leveraging the firm’s expansive European network, Trevor’s hire will bolster Simmons’ construction group, which sits within its ENRI practice.
Simmons’ expanding ENRI team brings together international specialists working across project finance, public procurement, tax, environmental law, construction, real estate, regulation and competition.
Commenting on the hire, Duncan Athol, partner in Simmons’ construction group, said: “Trevor’s international expertise and connections with leading companies and institutions will be a great boost to our expanding construction group. I look forward to working together to bring our first class construction advice to a wider pool of global clients.”
Iain Duncan, head of the firm’s UK ENRI practice, said: “Trevor is a fantastic addition to our ENRI team. Exploiting our strong international network, he will play a key role in expanding the reach of our construction group, whilst also adding further depth across the wider practice.
On joining Simmons, Trevor commented: “Simmons has a great reputation and I’m very pleased to have joined the firm as partner to bolster its capabilities. I was drawn to the firm by its global presence and ambitious growth plans for its construction group – which stands in an excellent position to offer clients the support they need to navigate the complexities of an industry undergoing major changes.”
