In a move that will supercharge its growing construction offering, international law firm Simmons & Simmons has hired experienced partner Marianne Toghill into its London office.
Arriving with a market leading reputation in the construction industry having advised on some of the most iconic buildings in London including the Shard, Battersea Power Station, the O2 Arena and Canary Wharf, Marianne joins Simmons after several decades at the London office of another international law firm.
A non-contentious construction specialist, Marianne’s expertise is centred on advising property developers and large corporates on complex real estate development, large scale urban regeneration, data centre construction and healthcare and life sciences projects. Big ticket mixed use entertainment, stadium and luxury hotel projects are also a specialty for the partner.

A respected industry figure, Marianne has been recognised as a leading individual in Chambers and Legal 500, and was featured in The Lawyer “Hot 100” 2020.
Commenting on the hire, Duncan Athol, partner in the firm’s construction team, said: “We are delighted to have secured such a highly-regarded construction partner in Marianne. Her vast experience, long-term client relationships and deep industry knowledge will immediately enhance the offering of our thriving construction team and wider ENRI practice, taking our advisory capabilities to the next level.”
