Fried Frank announced that it has added three new partners to its growing M&A and Private Equity Practice in London. Christian Iwasko, Michelle Tong and Priya Rupal have joined from Goodwin Procter LLP, where they served as partners in the private equity practice.

Iwasko is a recognized practitioner with extensive experience advising private equity sponsors on complex business transactions, including leveraged buyouts, structured equity investments, growth equity investments, distressed investments, debt and equity restructurings, management incentive plans, fund formations and GP stake sales.

Tong is an experienced advisor to private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on a broad range of matters, including leveraged buyouts, structured equity investments, distressed investments, equity and debt restructurings, joint ventures and management incentive plans.

Rupal advises on a wide array of corporate matters with a focus on private equity and private M&A transactions. Her experience includes advising private equity sponsors on buyouts and minority investments, structured equity investments, distressed investments and management incentive plans, and advising on private M&A acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures.

“We are thrilled to welcome Christian, Michelle and Priya to the firm,” said Steven Epstein, managing partner and co-head of Fried Frank’s M&A and Private Equity Practice. “The arrival of this talented group of PE partners will enhance the capabilities of our M&A and Private Equity Practice, and add further depth to our client offerings in Europe and on cross-border transactions.”

“This market-leading team of lawyers brings broad dealmaking experience and deep knowledge of the European PE market to our growing London office,” added Ashar Qureshi, managing partner of Fried Frank’s London office. “Christian, Michelle and Priya are powerful additions to Fried Frank in Europe.”

This team’s arrival follows that of partner Cameron Mitcham, who joined the firm’s Finance Practice in London in January. The firm also added partner Monica K. Thurmond to its Finance Practice in New York earlier this month.

On March 1, 2024, Fried Frank’s new leadership appointments took effect, with Kenneth I. Rosh serving as firm chairman, Steven Epstein serving as managing partner and Scott B. Luftglass serving as vice chairman.

Fried Frank’s M&A and Private Equity Practice represents public corporations, private equity firms, investment banks and alternative asset managers. The international team offers comprehensive and integrated specialist practices critical to seamless transaction execution, including tax, finance, capital markets, intellectual property, environmental, regulatory and compliance and executive compensation and ERISA, among others.
