International law firm McDermott Will & Emery welcomes Timothy (Tim) Spangler to its Transactions Practice Group as a partner in the Orange County and Silicon Valley offices. Joining from Dechert, Tim represents global clients at the intersection of investment management and disruptive financial technologies.

Tim advises clients on the formation, structuring and negotiation of private investment vehicles and on the impact of digital assets on the financial services industry. He regularly works with fund sponsors and promoters, offering strategic advice on hedge, private equity and venture capital fund structuring and launches, including co-investment arrangements, internal partnerships and personal investments.
He also counsels clients on a variety of US, UK and cross-border regulatory matters, including the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive and the ever-evolving regulatory landscape.
