Chimène Faurant joins Orrick’s Antitrust & Competition practice in Paris as a partner.
She advises clients on competition issues related to mergers & acquisitions, litigation and investigations, and brings experience in EU State Aid law and foreign subsidies regulation which are critical to energy and infrastructure projects and restructuring transactions, among other areas.
Recognized as a rising star by Legal 500, Chimène joins from De Pardieu Brocas Maffei and previously practiced at Clifford Chance Paris.
Chimène’s addition follows Bruno Romagnoli in Paris, who advises on M&A transactions in the tech and E&I sectors and joined in June.
“Our strategy is to build out a holistic team of the highest quality here in Paris, fully aligned with the sectors on which Orrick focuses globally. Competition regulation in the tech and E&I markets is only growing more complex, and we are delighted to bolster our team with the addition of a talent like Chimène,” said Patrick Tardivy, Partner in Charge of Europe.
Chimène advises on the full spectrum of competition law matters. She brings notable experience with merger control as well as cartel and monopolization investigations before the EU and French competition authorities. She also offers expertise in advising clients on a wide variety of State Aid issues and related notifications, including State Aid to support industrial decarbonization, energy and clean tech capacity or Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEIs) in strategic sectors.
“I’m thrilled to join this dynamic team and reunite with Patrick Hubert, with whom I practiced at Clifford Chance. Orrick’s sector-focused model and innovative advice and delivery are so well aligned with where the market is going, and I look forward to building with my new colleagues and continuing to deliver strategic legal advice in competition law to help clients grow their business and succeed in energy and digital transformation,” said Chimène.
“Chimène is an exceptional talent, and I am thrilled that she has decided to join the Orrick team. I know she will quickly become a sought-after advisor to our clients both in getting their deals done and planning for what is coming,” said Patrick Hubert, Antitrust & Competition partner.
