Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its real estate capabilities with the addition of partner Feroze Abbas. He joins the firm in London and will lead its planning and environmental law practice.
Feroze's practice covers all aspects of planning and environmental law, public sector governance and vires as well as housing regulation. His clients include developers, public bodies, investors and funds, whom he advises in relation to delivering varying types and mixes of regeneration and development schemes and regulatory compliance.
The timing of Feroze's appointment couldn't be better, said Simon Brading, head of the real estate practice area, Stephenson Harwood. With the UK planning reforms and Labour's proposals around new building, bolstering our expertise in planning and environmental law will be invaluable for our clients in this space.
Feroze's extensive experience will be a real asset for our real estate, energy and infrastructure capabilities, said Rebecca Carter, who leads Stephenson Harwood's wider real estate and projects group. There's a natural synergy between his practice and our work in decarbonisation, the development of which is a core strategic priority of the firm. It's an area we're seeing increasing demand for from clients, and essential for our being able to provide a full-service real estate offering.
With international expertise and broad experience in a wide range of commercial and residential property transactions and major global projects, Stephenson Harwood's real estate and projects practice advises clients all over the world. The team provides a full service offering both for external clients and for other teams within the firm.
