King & Spalding announced that private equity and M&A lawyer Jason Osborn has joined the firm’s Corporate practice group as a partner in its New York office.
Osborn focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. He counsels clients on their business development strategies and regularly represents private equity funds and public and private companies in complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, going-private transactions, joint ventures, divestures, private financings, recapitalizations and restructurings. He also advises clients on corporate governance, executive compensation and general corporate matters. His experience spreads across a wide range of industries, focusing on infrastructure and healthcare but also including technology, financial services, retail and consumer products, and manufacturing.
“Jason has a compelling mix of private equity and M&A experience across key industries of focus for us, including infrastructure, healthcare and financial services, among others,” said Jonathan Melmed, co-leader of the firm’s Corporate practice. “Jason’s diverse experience, industry acumen and deep relationships will make him a strong contributor as we continue to grow our work for private equity and public companies in New York and beyond.”
Osborn joins King & Spalding from Winston & Strawn. He earned his undergraduate degree from New York University and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.
“King & Spalding has a dynamic, growth-focused platform and market-leading regulatory capabilities, which will provide a great springboard for expanding how I serve my clients,” said Osborn. “The firm’s standout reputation in the healthcare, infrastructure and financial services sectors, where many of my clients operate, was a big draw for me, as is the team-focused approach the firm takes to serving clients.”
