Duncan, a well-known lawyer in the European market, brings decades of experience across a variety of asset classes to Proskauer with particular expertise across private equity, private credit and real assets.

Duncan advises on a wide range of fund-related work across asset classes and strategies including private equity (buyout, venture and funds-of-funds), private credit (direct lending, mezzanine, distressed and special situations), real assets (real estate, natural resources and infrastructure), as well as activist funds. He also advises on the structuring of carried interest, co-investment and other incentive schemes, secondary transactions, fund restructurings and spin-outs, and the establishment of new investment management businesses.

Duncan’s arrival continues a strong lateral growth streak for Proskauer’s Private Funds Group, which has welcomed 11 partners across New York, London and Paris since the start of 2024. In 2024, this included James Oussedik in London, Jennifer Crystal, Jennifer Dunn and Patrick Dundas in New York, and Agnès Rossi and Marcela Moraruin Paris. In 2025, this has included Christine Harlow and Nathan Schuur who joined in New York and Washington, D.C. respectively, Gwenaël Kropfinger who joined in Paris and Delphine Jaugey in London.
In 2024, the Firm’s Private Funds Group saw final closes of over 75 closed-end funds with an aggregate value of $67 billion and was recognized as a Practice Group of the Year by Law360.
