Proskauer is excited to welcome Anna Maleva-Otto as a regulatory partner in the Firm’s Private Funds Group.
Anna has spent years advising clients on UK and EU financial services regulation, including short selling and market abuse rules, EMIR, MiFID II, and AIFMD. Her practice spans the full lifecycle of FCA-regulated businesses, as well as trading across the UK and European markets. Anna regularly advises investment managers focused on public markets, including those managing hybrid strategies that combine private investments and liquid securities. Anna helps clients develop compliance frameworks and train their teams, and is a frequent contributor to industry working groups on a range of regulatory policy developments.
“Anna brings a wealth of expertise in European financial services regulation,” said Nigel van Zyl, partner and co-head of the Private Funds Group. “Her deep experience will be a real asset to our clients and complements and expands our existing regulatory capabilities, especially those with credit, liquid and public markets and trading strategies.”
Steven Davis, head of the Firm’s London office added: “Anna is a welcome addition to our expanding London office; she brings a broad range of skills that bolster and enhance our regulatory capabilities in the private capital market, and we look forward to having her onboard.”
“I’m excited to join Proskauer’s Private Funds Group at such a dynamic time for the regulatory landscape. The Firm’s depth of experience across the private capital space, especially its work with managers navigating both public and private markets, aligns perfectly with my practice,” said Anna. “I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across offices to support clients as they adapt to complex regulatory regimes and position themselves for growth.”
Anna’s arrival marks another step in the strong growth of Proskauer’s Private Funds Group, which has welcomed 12 partners across New York, London and Paris over the last 18 months. In 2025 alone, Proskauer has added Duncan Woollard and Delphine Jaugey in London, Christine Harlow in New York, Nathan Schuur and Amanda Butler Jones in Washington, D.C., and Gwenaël Kropfinger in Paris. In addition, the Firm added GP solutions partner Stefan Paulovic in July 2025. Stefan will work collaboratively across a number of practice areas and groups, including the Firm’s Private Investment Funds Group.
