David trained at Travers Smith before joining Dechert in 1999, where he was made a partner in 2001. His broad-based practice covers:

• all tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, demergers, flotations, re-organisations, capital raising and private equity, often with a cross border nature.
• investment fund work, advising both fund managers and funds, including the establishment of open- and close-ended onshore and offshore hedge funds.
• a mix of property, finance, employment and incentives tax work.

Throughout his career David has acted on a wide range of high profile and high value matters in many sectors. Examples of recent work include:

• Representing Mohamed Al Fayed's family trust in the sale of Fulham Football Club to Shahid Khan, the CEO of Flex-N-Gate Group and owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL.
• Advising CBS Studios International on its joint venture agreement to create CBS-branded channels from Chello Zone’s existing entertainment channels across 83 territories worldwide.
• Advising Tilda Ltd (a leading rice products company) and its shareholders on the sale of Tilda to the Hain Celestial Group Inc., a NASDAQ listed company.
• Representing Northill Capital on its acquisition of a majority stake in Longview Partners, a specialist asset management firm based in London and Guernsey.
