Sidley is pleased to announce that Jason Kropp and Craig Hilts have joined as partners in the Emerging Companies and Venture Capital (ECVC) and Capital Markets practices in Sidley’s office in Boston. They join from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, where Mr. Kropp was chair of the Corporate Practice Group. Mr. Hilts was a partner in WilmerHale’s Corporate Practice Group.
Mr. Kropp advises emerging and mature companies, as well as venture and growth equity investors, on a broad spectrum of strategic transactions and corporate matters in a range of industry sectors, including life sciences and biotechnology, software, e-commerce, digital health, fintech, consumer products, education technology, artificial intelligence, and clean technologies. With a well-earned reputation as a trusted advisor, he serves clients through the full life cycle of company growth—from formation and early-stage financing to late-stage growth rounds, governance, public offerings, M&A exits, and other mission-critical deals. Mr. Kropp regularly counsels founders, executives and boards on day-to-day legal issues, and helps drive outcomes during pivotal moments.
Mr. Hilts advises domestic and international companies on all types of equity and debt capital markets transactions, public company reporting, and corporate governance matters, with a strong focus on the life sciences and technology sectors. He regularly serves as principal outside counsel to growing public companies in which he provides strategic advice to boards of directors and management teams on capital raising strategies. Mr. Hilts is known for his strategic insight and deal fluency. He also frequently represents leading investment banks in capital markets offerings across these industries.
