PARTNER MOVES - Sidley strengthens global infrastructure and M&A practices in Singapore with partner Alun Evans

05 May 2025

Sidley is pleased to announce that Alun Evans has joined as a partner in Singapore. Prior to joining Sidley, he was a partner at A&O Shearman, where he helped lead their infrastructure M&A practice in the APAC region and was co-head of their Philippines Foreign Desk.

Mr. Evans joins the firm’s elite Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure practice, which has added a number of leading practitioners including Steven Tredennick, Paris Theofanidis, and Stephen Boone (Houston); Greg Lavigne (New York); Andrea Lucan (Los Angeles); and James MacArthur, Ed Freeman, and Ben Thompson (London).

Mr. Evans advises a broad range of private companies, infrastructure funds, and sponsors, investing in various infrastructure-focused businesses such as data centers, toll roads, and energy businesses. He has a highly regarded M&A practice with more than 20 years’ experience in the energy and infrastructure (including digital infrastructure), energy transition, financial services, and healthcare sectors.

“Sidley’s Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure practice is truly elite. By adding Alun to the team we are joined by another leading practitioner to continue to service infrastructure clients with a full suite of capabilities across practices and regions,” said Brian Fahrney, chair of Sidley’s Executive Committee. “We have seen increasing demand from clients for premier support rooted in strong local market knowledge as they look to increase investments in infrastructure funds. Alun brings exactly that to our platform in the Asia-Pacific region.”

“Alun is a highly regarded M&A lawyer regularly instructed by the leading private funds to navigate them through some of the most complex transactions in Asia,” said Constance Choy, managing partner for the Asia Pacific region and a member of the Management Committee and Executive Committee. “Alun is well-known to us and we share many clients in common. He will create strong synergies with Singapore-based M&A partners Charlie Wilson and Parthiv Rishi and will help deepen our relationships with some of the most active and sophisticated investors in the region.”
