International law firm Simmons & Simmons has announced the hire of debt capital markets specialist Rory Renshaw as partner.
With extensive experience across a number of areas in debt capital markets (DCM), Rory joins the firm on promotion to partner, moving from City firm Linklaters.
Rory brings enduring relationships with clients across multiple sectors and jurisdictions, with his DCM expertise including institutional and retail bond offerings, emerging market transactions, and debt capital markets transactions for funds.
The new partner hire will bolster Simmons’ experienced DCM practice, which advises influential investment banks, corporates and institutional investors on a range of complex and high value international transactions. Rory’s addition will further enhance the team’s capabilities and client relationships, helping the practice to continue on a trajectory of growth.
Commenting on the hire, DCM partner Piers Summerfield said: “Securing Rory as partner is a great boost to our debt capital markets practice. His deep knowledge of DCM, together with his recognised expertise in retail bonds and invaluable experience advising banks and funds, will support our plans to expand and support more of the world’s most influential businesses and institutions.”
On joining Simmons, Rory Renshaw commented: “I’m very pleased to be joining the firm as partner. Simmons has an excellent reputation and wide experience advising leading clients across the debt capital markets space. I’m looking forward to leveraging my strong relationships and broad DCM skillset to support the ambitions of the practice.
