International law firm Simmons & Simmons has continued its growth and expansion in the Spanish market with the hire of Emma Morales as partner.
With more than 20 years of experience in the legal sector, Emma will join Simmons in September, moving from the Madrid office of a London-headquartered international law firm, where she held an Of Counsel position.
Emma is highly regarded in the areas of corporate law, commercial and financial litigation, as well as in the construction and energy sectors. Her client base aligns strongly with Simmons’ focus – particularly her work in the financial institutions sector, where the firm holds significant expertise. She is also closely aligned through experience advising investment and litigation funds, private equity firms and IBEX listed companies.
Emma is also noted for her in-depth knowledge and skill in handling proceedings before civil and commercial courts, as well as in commercial and investment arbitration, both international (ICC, LCIA, ICSID) and domestic (CAM, CEA, CIMA).
Her experience includes advising on disputes relating to civil and commercial contracts, corporate disputes, directors' liability, unfair competition and financial contracts. In addition, Emma is an expert in cassation and procedural infringement appeals before the Supreme Court of Spain. She also holds a role as a university lecturer at Universidad Instituto de Empresa (IE) – consolidating her reputation as a leading lawyer in her field.
In joining Simmons Madrid as a partner, Emma will be accompanied by Ana Velasco in the role of Supervising Associate.
