International law firm Simmons & Simmons has expanded its Munich office with the appointment of Boris Schilmar as partner. This is subject to the usual regulatory approval. Boris joins from Raupach & Wollert-Elmendorff (Deloitte Legal), where he led their Munich office and for whom he had worked in Düsseldorf before since 2008 as a partner.

Boris is focussed on advising Mittelstand companies as well as international investors on M&A, reorganisations, general corporate and the structuring of corporate recoveries. In particular, Boris specialises on advising on China related transactions.

He will be joined by associate Vanessa Julia Nieporte who specialises in M&A, reorganisations and IPOs, and by Chinese team member Yan Sun.

Commenting on the appointment, Simmons & Simmons’ Germany Country Head, Hans-Hermann Aldenhoff said: "Boris Schilmar and his team’s arrival is the latest step in the expansion of our Munich office, which opened last March.
