International law firm Simmons & Simmons has announced that leading legal technology and banking specialist Lucy Shurwood will join Solutions, the firm’s innovation practice, as a partner in Wavelength from Sep 2023.

Joining Simmons after seven years as a partner at another City firm, Lucy brings significant experience driving the development and delivery of legal technology and data solutions – predominantly for clients in the Financial Services sector.

Lucy’s hire will support the expansion of Wavelength – the legal engineering arm of the firm, which sits within Solutions. Simmons acquired legal sector disruptors Wavelength in 2019 in a landmark move, which was a first for the legal sector and helped ensure Simmons is at the cutting edge of innovation in legal practice.

Lucy will join Solutions partners Ben McGuire, Sarah James, Drew Winlaw and Peter Lee and a dynamic 75 strong Solutions team to drive the growth of the international practice group. She will support the firm in satisfying an increased client demand for technology driven solutions and the firm’s continued focus on deeply innovative client service.
